Oticon Reveal: The first in Dual AI hearing - designed to go far beyond speech.
Oticon has launched Reveal™, the world’s first hearing aid powered by Dual AI.
This marks a significant shift in the way AI is used in hearing technology: not only to make speech clearer, but also to give you the meaningful contextual sounds that help the brain make sense of any listening situation.
For years, hearing-aid development has understandably focused on the problem most people describe first: “I can hear that someone is talking, but I cannot make out the words.”

Reveal™ is designed to give the brain access to both clear speech and relevant contextual sound, helping it process the listening environment more naturally. But notably, lessening those sounds you’d rather not hear - like wind and interference.
The thinking behind Reveal: the brain needs and wants context
Oticon’s BrainHearing™ approach starts with a simple but important idea: we hear with our ears, but we make sense of it with our brain.
The brain continually organises the sound scene, separates voices and objects, shifts attention and uses context to create meaning.
Some hearing technologies prioritise speech through aggressive noise reduction.
This can help speech stand out, but reducing too much of the wider soundscape may also make listening feel narrow, detached or unnatural.
New BrainHearing insights informing Reveal point to a natural balance: speech needs to be clear, while relevant context is still present, in a way that feels natural to you.
Thomas Behrens, Vice President of Audiology & Applied Research at Demant and Chief of Audiology at Oticon, describes the key insight in a nutshell: “The brain needs more than access to speech.” It needs access to all the contextual surrounding sounds to perform optimally and for people to feel oriented and immersed.
What Dual AI actually does
Reveal has two dedicated AI systems integrated within its new Reveal AI platform. They operate together, continuously and in real time across listening environments.
Speech AI constantly identifies and enhances speech from people around the wearer.
Context AI recognises and balances meaningful surrounding sounds.
Rather than treating everything outside speech as ‘noise’ to be eliminated, the system aims to preserve the sounds that help complete the scene.
That context could be cutlery and conversation around a dinner table, footsteps as someone approaches, the movement of traffic, music in a room, or the small sounds that make time with family feel like a whole experience rather than a disembodied voice.
The aim is a more complete, more natural hearing experience: speech clarity without stripping away the world that makes your world feel natural and more meaningful.
What Oticon’s research found - the brain response
Oticon reports that Reveal™ produced a 60% stronger brain response in a difficult listening situation compared with earlier generation of premium hearing technology.
Oticon also found that, when users heard a relevant contextual sound, their brains prioritised it almost three times more highly than other contextual sounds.
For Behrens, this points to a meaningful real-life benefit: helping people navigate complex sound scenes and remain present for “special moments with friends and family.”
Clearer sound amplification - with less feedback
A hearing aid needs to provide sufficient sound to the brain without producing the whistling associated with feedback.
Reveal Optimizer™ is Oticon’s new feedback-management system.
According to Oticon, it delivers 30% faster feedback blocking and 4X greater precision, creating more headroom and fitting stability.
It can provide up to 25 dB more gain than leading competitors under the conditions used in its comparative testing.
For the wearer, the practical outtake is clearer, better-amplified sound with less risk of uncomfortable feedback creeping in.
A new connectivity platform
Reveal™ also introduces a new connectivity platform with improved signal strength, designed to provide Oticon’s best stability and range while streaming.
This gives wearers greater freedom to move while taking hands-free calls or streaming audio from compatible devices.
Reveal is Made for iPhone and optimised for Android™, with support for Bluetooth® LE Audio and Auracast™ broadcast technology.

The two AI systems are designed to work all day, in real time, as listening environments change. Oticon has managed to deliver all of this highly advanced technology without compromising on hearing aid size, battery life, comfort or discretion.
