Hearing Technology (Hearing Aids)

Modern hearing technology has come a long way since those old, cumbersome, last century hearing aids.

Digital technology has made it possible for manufacturers to develop smaller, more efficient, more discreet and more reliable designs than ever before. These are sophisticated electronic devices, designed to deliver sound to the wearer's brain efficiently and comfortably. They also offer connectivity to your mobile, so you can control functionality seamlessly, at your fingertips.

There certainly isn’t a “one style fits all” in the world of hearing technology. There are  countless different designs, all catering for different wearers’ needs. Almost like our fingerprints, the shape of the ear canal is unique to each of us. It even differs from right to left ear. Trying to force a standard shape into it would be decidedly uncomfortable and painful after a long period of time. Our discreet hearing aids are custom crafted for each individual, to ensure they fit comfortably and securely at all times.

Hearing Technology Options

The hearing technology available from The Well Being BY CUBEX varies from virtually invisible “in the ear” devices, with no switches or buttons, produced in a variety of colours to match the wearer’s skin tone, to powerful “receiver in the ear” devices, suitable for individuals with severe to profound hearing loss.

The “in the ear” devices are so small that they don’t affect your use of headphones, telephones, or even wearing glasses. The “receiver in the ear” devices have smart wireless features that enable the user to connect directly with televisions, computers, and telephones, via the hearing aid, all controlled via a mobile phone.

We work with leading international hearing technology designers and manufacturers to bring our patients the very latest designs. In the past, hearing technology research and development focused simply on increasing the volume of the sound received by the wearer. Technological innovation has made it possible to support the natural spatial processes of the brain too. This enables devices to not just indiscriminately raise the volume, but to sharpen the focus of what the wearer hears. Years of research has also resulted in the development of hearing aids that can communicate with each other. This means that the hearing aids in the right and left ears work together, helping to enhance the wearer's spatial awareness and hearing experience.

Our In-House Service and Repair Centre

Contemporary hearing technology design is extremely reliable. However, like any device, it requires maintenance and care, from time to time.

The Well Being BY CUBEX has an in-house service and repair centre - ‘The Hearing Lab’. We understand how important your hearing devices are and how lost you might feel without them. For this reason, we provide a by-appointment check and repair service. If, for some reason, we are unable to repair your hearing aids in-house, we will send them safely and securely to the original manufacturer, and track their progress on your behalf. After a final check by us, we will get them sent straight back to you.

Insurance

Hearing technology is, by design, small and discreet. This can however mean that your earpieces can go missing or get damaged when they’re removed from your ears.

The manufacturer's warranty will cover failure due to issues with materials of construction or workmanship, but not loss or damage. We are not an insurance provider, but we have been involved in our sector for many decades and can point you in the right direction, as far as the most appropriate insurance providers are concerned.
